Leading the Carroll Dragon Wrestling Team for the past eight years, Coach Hathaway is originally from Tacoma, Washington. Coach Hathaway was both a High School and Collegiate wrestler. He was an All-State wrestler in Washington for Curtis High School and started as a true freshman for Pacific Lutheran University. He would go on to continue his wrestling career at Southern Oregon University, were he graduated from in 2006.

Thanks to Coach Hathaway’s leadership, Dragon Wrestling has grown exponentially both in numbers and success. In the most current season, the team at one point listed over 70 wrestlers on its roster.  Even more impressive are the team accolades earned during Coach Hathaway’s tenure:

  • 24 All-State (Top 6) Wrestlers since 2010
  • 2011-2012-2013-2015-2016-2017 District Champions
  • 2011-2015-2016-2017 All-State Dual Team
  • 2017 Dual State Finalist
  • 2012-2013-2015-2016-2017 District Dual Team Champions
  • 120-25 Career dual meet record as Head Coach   
  • 2016 & 2017 Region 1 Runner-Up
  •  2017 UIL State Team Runner-Up
  • 6X UIL District Coach of the Year
  • 2016 Region 1 Coach of the Year

In addition, Coach Hathaway has received several personal awards recognizing his coaching skills including being named 4-6A District Coach of the Year six times, 2016 Region 1 Coach of the Year and Best High School Coach by The Southlake Journal in 2016.
